Zen Publications devotes itself to books, audios and videos dealing with Philosophy, Mysticism and Spiritualism. Our special focus is on books dealing with Advaita Vedanta – the philosophy of non-dualism propagated by Adi Shankara and then carried forward gloriously by renowned sages like Shri Ramana Maharshi, Nisargadatta Maharaj, Ramesh S. Balsekar, Wayne Liquorman and Karl Renz.
We are witnessing a huge resurgence of interest in Advaita both in India and abroad. This may be because Advaita’s realm extends right across the spectrum from sheer logic to pure intuition and it has little patience with either ritualism or with name- and image-worship. It ruthlessly sweeps away all peripheral conceptual cobwebs to get to the core questions asked for ages by every “seeker” of the Truth: Who am I? What is the purpose of this manifestation, of life and living as we know it? Who is the doer of all the actions? Is everything pre-determined? Does one have free will, choice and volition? How does one fall out of the see-saw of dual polarities? Is it possible to get rid of the ego? Interestingly, Advaita does not solve these queries, it dissolves them.
